WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST UK

Over 300,000 women and 2.7 million newborn babies die each year in pregnancy and childbirth or soon afterwards, the majority of them in Africa and South Asia.

The lifetime risk of maternal death in high-income countries is 1 in 3,300, compared to 1 in 41 in some low-income countries.

99% of maternal deaths occur in the developing world, making maternal mortality the health statistic with the largest disparity between developed and developing countries.

This is an unnecessary and avoidable tragedy. In 2000, world leaders set ambitious goals to improve these shocking statistics. Women and Children First is supporting some of the most marginalised communities to achieve them.

ALL COURSE PROFITS WILL BE DONATED TO THIS WORTHWHILE CHARITY.
